Profit Siphons Are Stealing At Least $227,325 From Your Operating Budget – Reason # 14

The Expense Category Manager Is Unwilling To Allow An Outsourced Expense Category Expert To Review The Current Category Spend

I’ve covered a lot of this topic in the previous section as they’re quite similar, but with a slightly different twist.

Here, the expense category manager is refusing to allow anyone else to review the expense category. They may or may not be commenting on the likelihood of profit recapture potential.

From experience, I’ve seen their “domain protection” to be a disguise for their fear that there is profit recapture potential.

In the competitive world of business, a perception exists that any appearance of the lack of skill will cost you your job. Depending upon the position and company, that may or may not be true.

However, I haven’t seen anyone dismissed because they engaged an outside authority to review and possibly improve an expense category, especially an indirect expense category.

It’s really a perception which rings true for that expense category manager. The bad news is that it’s costing your company significant lost profit dollars.
